A beautiful Iraqi morning in The University of Technology.

We start our TedxCity event with the National Anthem  played by the Artist and Academic, Ali Hassan (a tutor at the Tonalities Studies Institute) on the lute.

Ali Al Hassani will open the activities of the event with wonderful Iraqi words accompanied by playing the flute.

Zaid Fadhil talks about establishing the  first cinema in Baghdad after long years of decline in the role of cinema as a respectable entertainment means to gather the Iraqi families.

Zaid: The Iraqi society is an educated one which has not lost his high taste and constant quest for a decent life despite all the circumstances.

Eng. Khalid Majeed talks about his dream of finding a city that depends on clean energy resources. He also briefs the audience on the existing contamination in Baghdad.

Architect Ibraheem Jawad talks about ordinary people’s concerns, how to overcome them emphasizing that the secret of success lies in determination and holding onto hope.

Mahmoud Wahab. An activist in the  IT  field speaks about his dream of establishing the e-government. His big project starts with a very important step and that is eliminating electronic illiteracy and spreading internet usage practices.

Mu’taz Mohsin and Ali Al-Rawi play guitar in a unique way that grasps the full attention of all audience.

Harith Khaleef talks about the feelings of the residents of Baghdad towards their city and what does the city represent to them.

Harith: we have to maintain the historical architectural symbols of Baghdad by reviving them, this should not be limited to architectural maintenance only but we need to re-hold the activities in which they were previously held.

Closure with the creative Ula Thiya’a Al-Deen singing “Fougil Nakhal” on the lovely rhythms of the flute.
